Jamakabi is an original grime pioneer whose distinctive patois-laced style and high-energy delivery helped define the sound of the early UK scene. Born in East London with Jamaican and Montserratian roots, he made his mark with a standout verse on the 2004 classic Pow (Forward), before joining the legendary Roll Deep crew and featuring on their debut album In at the Deep End, which achieved Silver status.

Beyond the mic, Jamakabi co-founded Rhythm Rollers in 2015, helping build a label and platform that connects UK underground music with audiences around the world. His work has taken him across the globe, performing and working with artists from different scenes and cultures. Recent collaborations include Grime Scene Saviours with Chip and two releases with Sigma, including the standout Chargie. Still active across music, events and the wider culture, Jamakabi continues to push things forward without losing sight of where it started.
